2001 - 2002

Legion of Darkness nasce nel 2001 a Palermo, per mano di Lord Inferos e Flagellum. Nel 2002 il duo registra la prima demo "Hymns to Blasphemy". All’epoca la band proponeva puro Black Metal anni ’90.

2003

Nel 2003 esce la demo omonima (Legion of Darkness “Legion of Darkness”) che segna un radicale cambiamento di stile; i pezzi sono volti verso un Pagan Black Metal influenzato dalla vecchia scena polacca e i testi divengono più ragionati e introspettivi.
Il lavoro viene accolto con grande entusiasmo dalla stampa specializzata. Dopo questa uscita il gruppo sarà presente su diverse compilations di genere con i suoi brani.

2004 - 2005

Dopo la realizzazione della seconda demo, la band inizia a lavorare sui pezzi che compongono il primo album, intitolato "Cantus". Il disco è uscito a fine 2004 come promo destinato agli addetti ai lavori, per poi essere stampato professionalmente nell'autunno 2005 dall'italiana The Oath Records. "Cantus" ha ricevuto numerosissime recensioni positive, venendo spesso indicato come una delle migliori produzioni Pagan Black Metal uscite in Italia. Dopo la pubblicazione del debut album, Adranor (già in Heruka e Throne of Molok) si unirà alla vecchia line-up per occuparsi del basso e delle tastiere.

2006 - 2007

In questi anni si cementa l'unita del trio, che lavora col massimo impegno sul successore di "Cantus".


2008

Viene ultimata la composizione di "Meridies" e il duro lavoro della band si concretizza finalmente in studio di registrazione. Il disco, registrato professionalmente, è il frutto della costante ricerca musicale del gruppo, che da anni alle sonorità del Black Metal più ferale unisce melodie acustiche, voci pulite e strumenti classici come violino, violoncello e flauto, grazie al prezioso contributo di diversi guests. Il disco è composto da cinque brani (50 minuti di musica circa), di cui solo tre presenti nel promo. Per l’ultimo brano, il cui titolo è “Ithaca”, è stato realizzato un videoclip (presente nel promo in formato multimediale), al fine di esplicitare tramite immagini il particolare feeling mediterraneo che la band si propone di comunicare.

2009

Dopo un'intensa attività promozionale, la band riceve numerose critiche positive relative al promo di "Meridies" da webzines e magazines italiani ed esteri, ottenendo spesso il giudizio di "top demo" nelle rubriche dedicate.
Durante l'estate viene raggiunto un accordo riguardo la stampa del secondo full length con l'emergente etichetta Dark Babel records.
L'uscita ufficiale di "Meridies" in versione integrale è prevista per i primi mesi del 2010.

2001 - 2002

Legion of Darkness was formed in 2001 by Lord Inferos and Flagellum. In 2002 the duo records the first demo “Hymns to Blasphemy”. The band played pure Black Metal in the way of ‘90s.

2003

The homonymous demo is released in 2003 (Legion of Darkness “Legion of Darkness”), which marks a radical changing in style; the tracks are addressed towards a Pagan Black Metal influenced by the old polish scene and the lyrics become more reasoned and introspective. The work is welcomed with great enthusiasm by the specialized press. The band will be present on various compilations of this genre with his songs, after this release.


2004 - 2005

After the second demo, the band starts to compose the songs of the first album, entitled “Cantus”.
The record was released at the end of the years 2004 as a promo destined to labels, and then it was professionally published in the autumn of 2005 by the italian The Oath Record. “Cantus” has received several positive reviews, being often considered as one of the best Pagan Black Metal productions in Italy. After the publication of the debut album, Adranor (already in Heruka and Throne of Molok) wouldjoin the old line-up, to be concerned with bass and keyboards.

2006 - 2007

The unity of the trio is improved during these years.
L.o.D. begins the composition of the second album.

2008

“Meridies” is completed and the work of the band is at last carried out in a recording studio.
The album, professionally recorded, is the result of the continuous musical research of Legion of Darkness, that has been joining the sounds of Black Metal and acoustic melodies, clean vocals and classical instruments as violin, cello and flute with contribution of a lot of guests. The full length is composed of five tracks (approximately length 50 minutes) of which only three are inserted in the promo. As for the last track, entitled “Ithaca”, a videoclip has been realized (included in the promo in multimedia format), in order to show through images the mediterranean feeling that the band would communicate.

2009

The band received a lot of positive criticisms concerning the promo of "Meridies" by webzines and magazines in Italy and abroad, which is rated often as "top demo" in the dedicated sections.
Legion of darkness signed a deal with the emerging label Dark Babel records during the summer, in order to print the second album.
The official release of "Meridies" full length version is planned for the early 2010.
